
John McCormick
Founder & Managing Partner
John is the founder of Tamarack Global. He began his career in banking and hedge funds investing across global markets.
While investing, John developed a thesis around the digital economy which drove seed investments across data intelligence serving finance and the intelligence community (Dataminr / RedOwl). These early investments led to work across new sectors and themes and became the impetus for Tamarack Global and all of its early investments. John currently sits on the board of Figure AI, Fuse Energy and a stealth companyin the automotive space.
John holds a B.A. in History from Ohio Wesleyan.
Shuo Cheng
Partner
Shuo began her career in tech advisory at J.P. Morgan alongside Jamie, then led operations, finance, and investor relations/business development at SnowPlus Technology, an early- stage consumer hardware startup. She later served as the APAC renewables and hardware specialist at UBS, and subsequently invested in energy-related private funds and co-investment deals at New Holland Capital.
Shuo holds a B.S. in Business Administration from USC, with minors in Financial Maths and Computer Programming, and a M.F.E from UC Berkeley.
Jamie Lee
Managing Partner
Jamie started his career in Goldman Sach’s derivatives business, advised tech companies while at JPMorgan, and invested in technology while at Coatue Mgmt, where he was responsible for $1.5B Equity Long/Short book at Coatue
Jamie is an early investor in Archer Aviation, Ample, Genies, Antithesis, and many others. Jamie earned a B.A. in Economics from Williams College and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, where he also graduated from the school’s esteemed Deep Value Investing program.
Rob Eloff
Partner
Rob began his career in capital markets at JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs. Over the past decade, Rob has focused on private equity and venture, co-founding Lateral Frontiers—a VC fund with a 2.5x TVPI—backing critical infrastructure technologies in high-growth markets. Rob then turned his attention to frontier technologies in the U.S., identified and supported breakout companies such as Cambium Biomaterials, Gecko Robotics, and Divergent 3D through a family office syndicate (Inevitable Ventures).
Rob holds a Master’s in Finance from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with majors in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Cape Town.
